In the mid-1800s, the people of Dodge had a fictitious person, someone they could blame for all sorts of mayhem. His name was Luke McGlue. He was credited with many devious deeds. These wily deeds were concocted out of the antic minds of the first settlers of Dodge City. They were frontiersmen, doctors, lawyers, fraternity members, and gangsters. These Machiavellian actions aimed to lay down the severe conditions whereby an outsider became a group member – known as the Dodge City Gang. Many of the gang members would pull a prank and then pass it off to another individual or a fictitious person named Luke McGlue. These are some of the stories of the mischief-makers of Dodge City, which take place from 1872 to 1880, a time when Dodge City Kansas was full of pranksters. Join us now as we take you back to the legends of the old west and the tall tales of the pranksters of Dodge City.
