GUNSMOKE RELIVE THE LEGEND HOLLYWOOD STYLE
|
This page is dedicated to the legendary stories of Gunsmoke, an American radio and television Western drama. The radio series ran from 1952 to 1961 and two radio show artifacts can be found below. The television series ran for 20 seasons from 1955 to 1975, and stands as the United States' longest-running prime time, live-action drama with 635 episodes. Director Norman Macdonnell and writer John Meston wanted to recreate a dramatization series of the American west. The stories take place in and around Dodge City, Kansas, in the late 1870s. The series may have based some of its stories of famous characters from the early Dodge City Days.
